LASH LIFT AFTERCARE: HOW TO HELP YOUR CLIENTS’ LIFT LAST
by Kim CarterJuly 14, 20203 min read
Lash lifts are amazing, there’s no doubt about that. Lash artists as yourself have seen the dramatic changes that come from lifting someone’s lashes to new heights. But how can you make these glorious results last longer? On average, they last for the duration of the hair growth cycle, 8-12 weeks, but sometimes these are affected by the client’s activities immediately after the treatment.
We will be going through the proper aftercare procedures for Yumi Lash Lifts to help you, the artist, better understand the importance of this aftercare so that you can pass this information onto all your clients. We guarantee that the beautiful results will last much longer when following these simple steps.
FIRST 24-48 HOURS
Okay, you’ve finished lifting your client’s lashes. You’re in love with the results, your client is in love with the results, and everyone is super ecstatic! Now what? Well, before you send the client on their merry way, make sure they understand that they do have a minor responsibility to care for the lashes.
Avoid water. Water is the source of life, except for lash lifts. For the first 24-48 hours avoid getting them wet as this may relax the lift. The lashes need some time to settle into place and really take on the permanent lift look, which water can affect this process. After 24-48 hours the clients can swim, wash their whole face, go shark diving, whatever they prefer and their lashes will continue flying high!
Say “No” to steam. Steam from the sauna, hot tub, jacuzzi, or even that blazing hot shower we all love can also relax the lash lift. Similar to above, during the first 24-48 hours the lashes are still settling in and getting comfortable. Too much steam can make them uncomfortable and the lash lift will drop, putting the amazing lift back to what it was. Nobody wants that.
Be careful with how you sleep. I know, this may sound creepy, but it’s a great piece of advice. For all the “face sleepers” out there, you will need to sleep, or try your best, to sleep on your back for the first night or two. This is because the lashes, again, are still setting, which means they are still somewhat formable and can change shape/direction. If your clients sleep on their face, this will push the lashes around and when they wake up, well, the lashes might have taken on a funny angle.
Nourish those lashes. The lashes have just gone through a process to change their natural direction and shape. Think of it as if they went to the gym for a workout to look better. They definitely look better, but like the gym, everyone is going to be a bit thirsty after their workout. So, keep them nourished and hydrated.
The absolute best thing for this is Yumi Lashes Nourishing Biotin Serum. This mascara is specifically made for nourishing the lashes after a Yumi Lash Lift. It keeps them healthy, it’s full of Biotin and other natural ingredients to deeply moisturize the lashes. And the best part? It’s guaranteed to make your lashes 40% longer and thicker in just 15 days. Yes, you read that correctly, 15 days.
AFTER 48 HOURS
After the first 48 hours, clients can go back to your normal life. Swimming, surfing, skydiving, bull riding, you name it. Whatever they want to do, their lashes will stay with them as their trusty companion.
They can wear makeup, mascaras, eye shadows, anything they want! They can even get lash extensions after 48 hours if they want. But I don’t think they’ll need to because their lashes are already going to look DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.
We recommend making little Aftercare Cards for your clients as a special touch to your treatment. This way they will have with them how to properly care for their lash lift so the results last longer. They’ll love the extra touch, trust me.
